Step#1 – You begin by adding and verifying the website.  In this way you will gain access to the Console’s tools and reporting.

Step#2 – Create the XML Sitemap using the Plugins or using the standard method and then submit it. Basically, the Sitemap is XML Format which lists complete pages of your website, which are analysed by Google from time to time. The Sitemap would have Page URL as well as the information at what point of time the page is created and updated.

Step#3-Look out for any kind of crawling errors and fix them. If any page or all the pages are facing the problems and not becoming the part of Google Index, your website will not appear in any of the searches. Since you are registered with the Google, all the errors will be notified to you.

Step#4- Search for any manual actions if required and also check for any perceptible security issues. It is necessary that your website is not running under any Google Penalty. You need to view both – The Security as well as Manual actions.

Step#5- It is essential that you put forth the comparative study in your Google Search performance before and after a Google update. One of the ways of finding whether your page is affected for a particular search query is by comparing the functions of the “Search Results” page. You can also use the Compare Function of GSC before and after any update.

Step#6- Search for the pages that have low Click-Through Rates and try to improve them. The best way of doing it is by referring to the “Search Results Report.” While making any pertinent changes to Titles and Descriptions, it is essential that you maintain the Log sheet when the changes were made and the improvement in the performance after the change was made.

Step#7- Shortlist the Keywords specific to your business and increase visibility. You can use the “Search Results” report using the PAGE FILTER for finding out the list of keywords for which the pages rank.
